Stand Taller!

Overcome poor posture with a simple, personalized plan.

Ever catch your reflection in a window and think,
"Is that me? And when did I get that hunch?"

  • Have bad habits or tight muscles made you hunch?
  • Worried that your posture is too far gone to correct it?
  • Scared of a future hunch that’s waiting for you in 5, 10 or 15 years?

You’re in the right place to improve your posture and keep standing tall for many years to come.

Posture is more than posture…

It’s how we show up in the world.

Posture is like the tip of the iceberg.

Good posture indicates:

  • confidence
  • poise
  • grace
  • ease of movement
  • overall health and vitality

As we age, poor posture is linked to:

  • back, hip, shoulder, and neck pain
  • spine fractures
  • increased risk of falling
  • decreased physical activity
  • difficult breathing

Good posture helps:

  • reduce pain
  • joint alignment
  • bone health
  • activity level
  • mood and overall health

Good posture looks good and feels good!

When we work on improving posture…

We’re really working on the underlying problems that caused the poor posture, like bad habits and musculoskeletal imbalances.

Here's how it works...

We assess your current posture and flexibility with photos and measurements to identify your most important priorities and develop a plan to work on them.

You receive detailed instructions to complete your personal 20-30 minute routine 3-5 times per week, plus do a few simple movements daily.

We re-evaluate your posture after eight to ten weeks to measure your progress. When you graduate, you know what to do to maintain your progress.

Posture School can help you with:

"I'm more flexible, and playing better tennis and golf, and that is why I'll do my posture exercises for life!"

It is my pleasure to write a few words about my experience with Posture School. Joan certainly knows about posture and alignment. But there is much more to this experience than just posture. Joan is one of the most compassionate and hardworking teachers/coaches I have ever met. She is an excellent listener and tailors every lesson to the client’s needs. This program is well worth the investment of time and money involved. I have gained a great deal of insight into body mechanics and how my poor posture habits have impacted my life. Thank you Joan for a life changing experience.

I'm walking straighter and feel freer. I'm optimistic. I did movements with you that I wouldn't have done otherwise. I learned a routine that suits me. If I hadn't started working with you, I would still be bent over, walking like an old lady.

My Promise

We can’t turn back time or change the life you’ve already lived. Your body has its unique structure, and it carries some histories that have made their mark.  I cannot promise to take away aches and pains.

Here’s what I promise you….

I will lead you with mindfulness towards better alignment, flexibility, and posture. When you do the work, you will reap the rewards.

The Safety Talk

I’m not a medical professional. I do NOT diagnose, treat, or give medical advice.

Posture School is not a quick fix or a magic pill. I support you to do the work it takes to stretch what’s tight, strengthen what’s weak, and use mindfulness to pay attention during the day.

Posture School is for people who can walk and exercise safely, and who have their physician’s approval to do so.

In any health and wellness program, there is a risk of injury. You should check with your medical team before engaging in anything new. I will ask you to sign a waiver like you would sign at a gym.
